Therapeutic Modalities
Below you will find the evidence‑based approaches utilized by our therapists to support wellness in daily living, whatever that may look like for you. We tailor these modalities to your goals, your pace, and your unique lived experience.
-
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) - DBT supports the development of emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills help individuals navigate daily life with greater stability, clarity, and resilience.
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - CBT helps “turn down the volume” on anxiety and unhelpful thought patterns by identifying and reshaping the beliefs that fuel emotional distress. CBT is especially effective when paired with Mindfulness and Behavioral Activation strategies.
-
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) - ERP is a leading treatment for OCD and phobias. It involves gradually and safely confronting feared thoughts or situations while reducing the urge to engage in compulsions. Over time, this process helps desensitize the brain and decrease the intensity of distress.
-
Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I‑CBT)- ICBT focuses on the origin of obsessive thoughts by helping individuals reconnect with their senses and reality. This approach shifts attention away from intrusive “what ifs” and toward tangible evidence, reducing doubt and interrupting obsessive inference cycles.
-
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)- EMDR supports trauma healing by building internal “resourcing” skills and maintaining a steady window of tolerance. This allows for effective processing of past experiences and a reduction in the emotional disturbance tied to them. In addition, EMDR may prove useful in shifting negative cognitions associated with target memories.
-
Flash / 4 Blinks Technique- This gentle, trauma‑informed approach allows individuals to process distressing memories in micro‑slices, expanding their window of tolerance and reducing overwhelm during trauma work.
-
Solution‑Focused Therapy (SFT)- SFT is especially useful in short‑term treatment structures. It centers on your present goals and the steps needed to move forward, reinforcing strengths, highlighting solutions, and moving towards growth.
-
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)- An evidence‑based approach for couples and relationships that highlights attachment‑based patterns, identifies ineffective relational cycles, and supports partners in creating more secure, connected interactions.
-
Gottman Method- A research‑based protocol that strengthens communication, connection, and relationship stability by helping partners understand patterns, build skills, and deepen emotional intimacy.
-
Systemic Therapy- Views individuals within the context of their relationship networks rather than in isolation. This approach focuses on interaction patterns, roles, and dynamics within families, partnerships, and broader systems.
-
Prepare/Enrich- Assessment that may be administered to highlight relational strength and growth areas. Proves useful in informing relational dynamics and moving forward in relation to goals
-
Adlerian, Human Development, and Parts/IFS‑Informed Approaches- These modalities guide our conceptualization of your experiences, helping us understand patterns, identity development, and the internal systems that shape how you move through the world. We’re always glad to answer questions about any of the approaches above. Your path toward healing is chosen collaboratively, after we’ve had a chance to meet, understand your needs, and determine what feels like the best fit for you.
